Rihanna decided not to attend the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night, instead opting to go to the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Miami Heat game in the same neighborhood.
The “We Found Love†singer was nominated for Favorite Pop Artist and Favorite R&B Artist, taking home the award for the latter.
Contact Music reports that Rihanna will attend the upcoming Brit Awards, which Adele has just announced will be her first live performance since having surgery.
Rihanna will also perform at the awards show, as well as Coldplay, Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher and British singer Ed Sheeran.
The Hollywood Gossip reports that other stars who blew off the People’s Choice Awards were Rihanna’s pal, Katy Perry, who was understandably absent in the wake of her divorce announcement and Lady Gaga was also missing from the event. Kim Kardashian was also a no-show, as she failed to pick up her award for Favorite TV Celebreality Star in person.
“Kim didn’t want to go to the People’s Choice Awards yesterday because she didn’t feel good about herself,†an insider told Hollywood Life. “She came to Shades [hair salon] wearing dark sunglasses and seemed very withdrawn.â€
TMZ reports that Rihanna picked a good Clips game to attend, as they beat the Heat in overtime.
