Popular music world newcomers will mingle with established favourites at the 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, with the eclectic lineup headlined by Radiohead, the Black Keys, Dr. Dre. and Snoop Dogg.

On Monday, organizers of the annual California music festival unveiled a list of more than 100 featured artists set to take the stage in April.

This year for the first time the festival will extend through two weekends. The same acts will play both weekends of the music fest, set in the desert nearly 210 km east of Los Angeles.

The 2011 instalment drew more than 90,000 people, a whopping attendance figure that helped prompt organizers to find a way to spread the fun over a longer period.

Feist, The Sheepdogs, Tune-Yards, Dragonette and The Weeknd are among the Canadians slated to play the event. Other top acts on the bill include:

  • Pulp
  • Arctic Monkeys
  • Mazzy Star
  • Bon Iver
  • The Shins
  • David Guetta
  • Noel Gallagher's High Flying Band
  • St. Vincent
  • Kasabian
  • Kaiser Chiefs
  • Florence and the Machine
  • La Roux
  • Girl Talk
  • The Hives
  • Santigold
  • Gotye

The 13th Coachella festival takes place April 13-15 and April 20-22 in Indio, Calif.
